The Air Conditioning Contractors of America’s National Capital Chapter elected Debra Risher as president for the 2008-2009 term.
Risher has become the first female president of the 44-year-old trade association.
“It is an honor to be in the position of president, to be the first woman elected, and to have the opportunity to serve the heating, ventilation, air-conditioning and refrigeration industry that has been so good to me and my family,” she said.
Risher has been in the HVACR industry for over 30 years and is the owner of Belair Engineering in Mitchellville, Md.
The ACCA chapter also appointed several other board members. Wendell Nixon of Presidential Refrigeration in Gaithersburg, Md., will serve as senior vice-president and treasurer. Also serving as vice presidents are Mike Brennan of Brennan’s Heating in Woodbridge, Va., and Tim Cropp of Cropp-Metcalfe Air Conditioning in Fairfax, Va.
Davie Kyle of Trademasters Service in Newington, Va., was elected secretary.
