Despite some stumbles, based on the results of a survey, the Air Conditioning Contractors of America says its members are still expecting an economic recovery.

The survey was conducted for the ACCA’s Contractor Comfort Index. The index declined for a second consecutive month in August. For the month, the CCI stood at 61, down from 64 in July. A number of 50 or above reflects anticipated growth.

Members are asked how positive they feel about new business prospects, existing business activity, and expected staffing decisions in the short term. Even with the decline, in its first seven months, the index has increased 11 percent.
