Teams from Colorado State University, the University of Washington, Northeastern University and Milwaukee School of Engineering have been selected as MCAA student chapter competition finalists.

Representatives from the schools will make oral presentations of their bid proposals March 3 during the Mechanical Contractors Association of America’s annual convention.

This year’s contest involves ideas for the 58,000-square-foot expansion of J.F. Ahern Co.’s Wisconsin headquarters and the planned use of green-building features. Top prize is $5,000.

The finalists were chosen from submissions from 20 student chapters based on the proposals’ feasibility, quality, organization and similar factors.
