Four postsecondary HVACR programs recently earned national approval through the Partnership for Heating, Air-Conditioning, Refrigeration Accreditation program.
The newly accredited HVACR programs are Mount San Antonio College in Walnut, Calif.; Oakton Community College in Des Plaines, Ill.; Community College of Southern Nevada in Henderson, Nev.; and Gwinnett Technical College in Lawrenceville, Ga.
PAHRA recently re-accredited Linn State College of Technology in Linn, Mo., and Delaware Technical and Community College in Georgetown, Del.
Accreditation from PAHRA certifies the HVACR programs in the areas of residential air conditioning and heating, light-commercial air conditioning and heating, and commercial refrigeration.
The programs are evaluated on the quality of instruction, curriculum, students, faculty and the facility. The process includes a self-study, submission of a program report, a site visit and approval by a national committee.
PAHRA is supported by the Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Institute, the Air Conditioning Contractors of America, the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers and others.
