The 7251DH intelligent air duct smoke detector combines a high-sensitivity laser sensor with smoke-detection capabilities. This new laser duct smoke detector is suitable for environments where high-sensitivity detection is required and where high airflow and/or several air changes per hour occur, such as a telecommunications facility or a data center. By employing a high-sensitivity detector in an air-sampling duct housing, the sensing can take place in a controlled manner in the return airstream. When the laser sensor in the model detects sufficient smoke, an alarm is initiated at the fire control panel monitoring the detector. At that point, proper steps can be taken to identify the source of the concern and resolve it before the activation of costly fire-suppression systems or facility down time.
