Former San Antonio City Council member Richard Perez will give the keynote speech at the RSES’ annual convention, association officials announced.

Perez’s speech is scheduled for 8 a.m. Sept. 13. Currently vice president of his family’s landscaping business, Refrigeration Service Engineers Society officials said he has a large background in public policy and small-business issues. He has a bachelor's in urban and regional planning from Tesas State University and a master's in public administration from the University of Kansas.

The society's 70th annual meeting will be Sept. 11-15 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in San Antonio on the city's famed Riverwalk. Educational seminars, and training and certification sessions are planned.
