Air- and sound-control products manufacturer Ruskin Co. has acquired Eastern Sheet Metal. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Eastern, a privately held company in Cincinnati, will be integrated into NRG Industries, an operating company of Ruskin. Eastern manufactures commercial HVAC duct systems, and has manufacturing plants in Cincinnati and Dothan, Ala.
The company will be added to NRG’s three operating companies: Rooftop Systems Inc., National Duct Systems Inc. and Glass Master Inc. Eastern will join with National Duct Systems to provide additional manufacturing and distribution across the United States.
“Eastern Sheet Metal has built an excellent reputation in its respective markets and is a great fit with Ruskin and National Duct Systems. They provide products that are complementary to our offering and further expand our portfolio,” said Tom Edwards, Ruskin president. “ESM has developed innovative duct systems, like their exclusive Eastern Tight duct connection, that are in great demand in today’s high-energy-cost world. Phil Rutledge, our general manager of NRG will work closely with Bill Stout, general manager of ESM to expand our product and geographical presence. ESM’s business model will allow National Duct Systems to become a truly national supplier of duct.”
