Coleman has introduced its new Comforteer TCGD series of air conditioners with MicroChannel coil technology. Available in eight models, the 13 Plus SEER TCGD air conditioners feature a new chassis and a compact design, which the company claims makes them easier to install. The smallest 13 SEER unit measures 24 inches high by 23 1/2 inches wide by 23 1/2 deep and weighs only 96 pounds. Coleman explains that MicroChannel coil technology ensures the long-life reliability of the TCGD series air conditioners. This technology uses all-aluminum fin construction developed in the automotive industry. A 7,000-hour salt-spray test proves corrosion resistance - a feature especially important in coastal applications. The coil construction creates a superior heat exchange surface that allows a smaller unit to provide 13-SEER performance in less space. Other features and benefits of the series include a permanently lubricated fan motor, a tighter coil guard, and a compressor that is protected from high pressure and temperature.
