This new council will join the HVAC Systems and Equipment Council, the Refrigeration Council and the Controls Council.

Heating, Airconditioning, Refrigeration Distributors’ International officials said they believe the new hydronics and radiant heat council will be especially important for members in the Northeast, Great Lakes, and Mountain Regions where the residential markets in particular rely heavily on such products.

Randy Tice of APR Supply in Lebanon, Pa., was named inaugural chairman for the council. Bill Bergamini of Illco, Inc. in Aurora, Ill., was named vice chairman. The council is expected to hold its first formal meeting at the Northeast/Mid-Atlantic meeting May 6-9 in Galloway, N.J.

Out of its 450 total distributor members, it is estimated that nearly a third of the membership sells hydronic and radiant heat products. HARDI also has several hydronic manufacturers within its membership such as Crown Boiler Co., R.W. Beckett Corp., Rheem, Bacharach and Honeywell.
