Due to the growing importance of hydronic products for distributors, HARDI announced it would create a new hydronics and radiant-heat council.
This new council will join the Heating, Airconditioning, Refrigeration Distributors International’s current HVAC systems and equipment, refrigeration, and controls councils.
HARDI said it believes the new hydronics and radiant heat group will be especially important for members in the Northeast, Great Lakes and Mountain states, where the residential markets rely heavily on such products.
Randy Tice of APR Supply in Lebanon, Pa., was named inaugural chairman for the council, and Bill Bergamini of Illco Inc. in Aurora, Ill., was named vice chairman. The council is expected to hold its first formal meeting at the Northeast/Mid-Atlantic Regional Meeting in Galloway, N.J., May 6-9. The council plans to attempt partnerships with other industry organizations in this product group, including manufacturer and service associations.
Out of its 450 total distributor members, HARDI estimates that nearly a third sells hydronic and radiant heat products. HARDI also has several manufacturers of such products within its membership, such as Crown Boiler Co., R.W. Beckett Corp., Rheem, Bacharach and Honeywell.
