The Coleman mini display trailer is the latest marketing tool the company is offering to distributors.
The 8-foot by 12-foot trailer attaches to the back of any sport-utility vehicle or light-pickup truck, and showcases the brand's latest residential HVAC equipment
Coleman's goal is for each distributor to purchase their own customized mobile showcase, which they can then make available to their dealers to use at consumer events.
"The mini display trailer is a great way to showcase our products and allow the homeowners to hear how quiet they are," said Andy Fracica, Coleman brand manager. "We now have a trailer that is versatile enough to take a complete, fully functioning installation right to the homeowner."
Designed to look like a house, the ramp leading up to the Coleman mini display trailer is covered with artificial turf and lined with a picket fence. As visitors walk up the ramp and enter the unit, it features both an indoor and outdoor display.
The left side features the outdoor setting, complete with a Coleman Echelon 15 seasonal energy-efficiency rating unit, while the right side features the indoor setting and a Coleman furnace.
The mini display trailer also contains indoor air quality-monitoring equipment, including ultraviolet lights, an electronic air cleaner and a programmable "talking" thermostat.
Equipped with its own generator, the Coleman mini display trailer enables the HVAC units on display to operate anywhere, even if power is not available in the vicinity. According to Coleman officials, the trailer allows distributors to demonstrate how the products look and sound.
The trailers can also be customized to include business names and logos on the outside of the trailer. Other optional upgrades include an interactive kiosk, Echelon units with removable panels and tabletop displays. The interactive kiosk contains a touch-screen program that educates homeowners on all HVAC system components.
There is currently one mini display trailer prototype touring the country, which has already made several stops in California, including one at Johnstone Supply in Sacramento.
"We had the Coleman mini display trailer prototype unit at our open house and a lot of our customers were really impressed by it," said Jerry Kendrick, outside sales with Johnstone Supply. "The Coleman Echelon air-conditioning unit is the quietest unit in the industry today, and our customers get to see the unit in operation and witness for themselves just how quiet it really is."
