ENERGY RECOVERY
June 8, 2006
The new PowerPurge is an energy-recovery option for integrated, custom air-handling units. According to company officials, when used in the units, the PowerPurge improves performance by delivering air at drier levels, while using less energy than traditional active desiccant dehumidification systems. The patent-pending system acts as an energy recovery system, collecting waste heat off of the hottest section of the desiccant wheel and using it to help with the regeneration. The units feature a desiccant wheel that rotates two primary airstreams, process and reactivation.
