GARDEN CITY, N.Y. - Sid Harvey Industries Inc. announced that it has acquired assets of HVAC distributor Danzer based in South Charleston, W.Va. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Danzer was established in 1965 and supplies HVAC equipment to the commercial and residential markets.

The new Sid Harvey branches cover the trading areas of West Virginia, eastern Kentucky, Ohio and southwest Pennsylvania. The branches are located in South Charleston, Huntington, Hurricane and Morgantown, all in West Virginia.

The staff of each branch will remain intact as they make the change over to Sid Harvey's.

"Danzer represents a prime opportunity for Sid Harvey's to extend our presence into a new area. Danzer has always had an excellent reputation among contractors in this region and we are confident that the additional products and services that Sid Harvey's brings into the mix can only strengthen these branches," said John Rynecki, senior vice president of sales and marketing for Sid Harvey. "This is a natural fit for our company and meets our strategic goal of expansion into new markets."

According to Sid Harvey, 2006 is a benchmark year for the company. Besides its agreement with Danzer, Sid Harvey's celebrates 75 years of business and service to contractors in the HVACR and plumbing trades. The purchase of the Danzer outlets brings the total number of branches operated by the company to 75.
