The Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors National Association is supporting a bill from Republican Sen. Mike Enzi of Wyoming that would allow small companies to band together to save on health insurance.
The bill is co-sponsored by Sen. Ben Nelson (D-Neb.) and Sen. Conrad Burns (R- Mont.)
Lake Coulson, PHCC vice president of government relations, explained that the legislation authorizes the creation of small business health plans somewhat similar to a bill in the Senate, which PHCC has advocated for the past two years.
PHCC Government Relations Committee Chairman Tim Williford expressed support for Enzi's leadership on the bill.
"We are appreciative of the senator's commitment to move this legislation, which will provide more affordable health care options and choices for small businesses," he said.
