York International introduced its tailgating truck. The truck will visit college football games to showcase the company's new college logo panels.

York International Corp. is getting ready to do some tailgating.

The company recently announced the York 2005 Colors Tailgate Party tour, which will visit 10 college football games in an effort to introduce contractors to York's new college logo panels.

The York tailgating parties include a trailer flanked by two enclosed, climate-controlled tents that are set up in the tailgating areas of the 10 college football stadiums that the trailer will visit this year.

The trailer is equipped with a York heating and cooling system to provide comfort to football fans and HVAC contractors who visit the tents. Both tents are outfitted with sofas and chairs, flat-screen televisions, video game consoles and memorabilia.

The tents also display game-day rivals of the more than 45 college and university logo panels currently available on the Affinity series of residential air conditioners and heat pumps. York has signed agreements with the Collegiate Licensing Co. and the License Resource Group, which represents colleges and universities, in order to offer the logo panels that replace the standard condensing unit panels. The plan is to have 74 major schools represented by the end of this year.

York dealers may reserve the two tents as a VIP area and invite customers to visit the tent to see the new logo panels and become more familiar with other York products and services.

"We're also making the display available to distributors and dealers as it travels across the country between football games," said Andy Fracica, York brand manager. "We think the York tailgating parties will tie nicely into dealer meetings and open houses, as well as other special promotions, providing a comfortable setting to entertain existing customers and introduce potential customers to York."
