Latest survey from the Fabricators and Manufacturers Association reveals top earners.

ROCKFORD, Ill. - Top executives and business owners in the fabrication industry earn about approximately $170,000 a year, according to a survey released by the Fabricators and Manufacturers Association.

The "2004 Metal Forming & Fabricating Industry Salary and Benefits Survey for Executives and Professionals" gives detailed base salary statistics on 33 positions within the industry, and reports the top-five highest salaries. Behind CEOs and business owners, top financial positions and chief financial officers come in second, making approximately $112,000. The top five also includes those in marketing, sales and manufacturing, all making approximately $90,000 to $100,000.

The FMA report covers 261 companies and more than 3,000 employees. It also details the mean, median and 50 percentile for each position and includes a report of benefits for CEOs and executives, management, and professional and technical staff.
