SAN FRANCISCO - The National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA) holds its 114th annual convention here in the City by the Bay February 13-17.

"Living in a digital world" will be the general session address, given by John Perry Barlow, which NRCA says is "just possibly the best person in the world to provide information on how the (Inter)Net connects people from around the world."

Current issues in roof design, addressing immigrant work force issues, improving your company's safety program, using electronic technology in your business, current issues in roofing technology, and contract forms every roofing contractor should have are among other session topics.

The Moscone Convention Center will be the site of the annual trade show, with more than 425 manufacturers and service companies expected to exhibit. NRCA president John Miller and his wife Ellen will cut the ceremonial ribbon to open the trade show on Wednesday, Feb. 14, at 4:45 p.m.

Dr. Beck Weathers, who nearly died while climbing Mt. Everest in 1996, is the special guest speaker at the CNA-sponsored member breakfast/member meeting and election on Saturday morning.
