Manufacturer recognized for growing its business during an economic downturn.

SCHOFIELD, Wis. - Greenheck Fan Corp. is the 2004 Wisconsin Manufacturer of the Year, according to the Wisconsin Manufacturers and Commerce group. The company won the top award in a competition with manufacturers that employ 800 people or more.

Each nominated company was judged on financial growth, manufacturing processes, management philosophy, continuous improvement, research and development, leadership, employee commitment, and community involvement.

According to Greenheck, it was the company's business strategy over the past four years that was cited as one of the key reasons for the honor. In 2001, when the economy and construction market declined, Greenheck launched a growth plan. The company involved employee owners and business partners in an effort to drive growth. In spite of the economic downturn, Greenheck has increased sales each year. Since 2001, annual sales have increased 30 percent and now approach $300 million.
