Des Plaines, Ill. - Elections for new officers were held as part of the Refrigeration Service Engineers Society annual business meeting on October 24, 2002, at its 65th annual conference in Las Vegas.
As part of the proceedings, Executive Committee elections were held and officers were chosen. New RSES officers include International President James R. Casey, P.E., CMS; International Vice President Streeter B. Turner, CM; International Treasurer Kenneth Bachner, CMS; International Secretary Ronald J. McCarthy, CM; International Sgt.-at-arms Jerry L. Richey, CMS. In addition, Loren "Shorty" Shuck, CMS, began another year as chairman of the Educational & Examining Board.
Paul L. Winberry, CMS, was elected as the new Region 3 director.
Reelected regional directors to the international board also include: Region 2: Marilyn J. Roth, CM; Region 4: Jerry L. Richey, CMS; Region 6: Frank J. Prah, CMS; Region 7: Larry Lynn, CMS; Region 9: Robert E. Smith, CMS; Region 12: Harry "Butch" McGuire, CM; Region 16: D. Brian Baker, CM.
Returning regional directors to the international board also include: Region 1: Kevan Mayer, CM; Region 5: Kenneth Bachner, CMS; Region 8: Allan Smith, CMS; Region 10: J.R. "Dick" Burks, CM; Region 11: Bruce Kamperschroer, CMS; Region 13: Leonard Holst, CM; Region 14: Rollo A. Larson, CMS; Region 15: Streeter B. Turner, CM; Region 17: Ronald J. McCarthy, CM.
RSES honored the following individuals and organization at its annual awards luncheon on Oct. 23.
The Paul B. Reed Award, which recognizes RSES chapters with exceptional educational programs, was presented. 2002 winners include: Southeastern Iowa Chapter, Burlington, Iowa; Hill County Chapter, Kerrville, Texas; and Souris Chapter, Minot, N.D., small chapter category; Central Missouri Chapter, Jefferson City, Mo., medium chapter category; Greater Toledo Chapter, Toledo, Ohio, large chapter category.
