Contractor works on $75 million sports facility.

Mexico Heating Co. employees install the 100- and 110-inch spiral ductwork for the $75 million Paige Sports Arena at the University of Missouri’s Columbia, Mo., campus. The 15,000-seat basketball facility is expected to open Oct. 1.
COLUMBIA, Mo. - When the University of Missouri's new $75 million Paige Sports Arena opens this month, most basketball fans probably won't notice the 110-inch double-wall spiral ductwork overhead.

But that doesn't include the owners of Mexico, Mo.-based Mexico Heating Co. Inc., which installed the ductwork that hangs in the arena located on the university's Columbia campus. Those season-ticket holders will be looking up with pride.

The arena's 100- and 110-inch double-wall ductwork, made by C&R Mechanical of Bridgeton, Mo., was produced and assembled in sections, then shipped to the jobsite. Mexico worked under St. Louis-based mechanical contractor Condaire Inc. to complete the project.
