ARI elects new officers, directors
ARLINGTON, Va. - Thomas E. Bettcher, president and CEO of Copeland Corp., was elected chairman of the board of directors of the Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Institute.
Bettcher has been a member of ARI's board since 1997 and a member of the executive committee since 1999. He was one of the driving forces behind the establishment of the North American Technician Excellence program.
Other officers named at the annual meeting include David R. Pannier, president of Trane Residential Systems, who was elected first vice chairman, and Scott Boxer, president of Lennox Industries Inc., was elected second vice chairman. Daniel W. Holmes, Jr., chairman and ceo of Morrison Products, Inc. is the immediate past chairman of ARI.
Other ARI officers elected by the board include eight vice presidents and the treasurer:
Ralph Coppola, Geraud Darnis, Steven S. Duerwachter, David J. Huntley, David J. LaGrand, John H. Reilly, Peter Spellar, Robert Wilkins, and Debbie Hawkins (treasurer).Newly elected by the membership as directors at large were Charles A. Carroll, and Lynn Cortright.
Re-elected by the membership as directors at large were: Thomas E. Bettcher, Geraud Darnis, John Ferguson, Daniel W. Holmes, Jr., David R. Pannier, and Richard J. Schul.
Newly elected product section chairs were: Air Control & Distribution Devices, David Gau; Ammonia Refrigeration Compressors, Ed Schinner; Automatic Commercial Ice Makers, Dan Brandl; Automatic Controls, Earle Weaver; Chemicals, Mark Baunchalk; DX Geothermal Heat Pump, Jack Womack; Liquid Chillers, Richard Lord; Unitary Small Equipment, Brad Campbell; and Water Coolers, James Scott.
