Plasma machine
October 18, 2001
The AirForce 400 plasma cutter was designed to cut metal faster than an oxy-acetylene torch. According to the manufacturers, it’s cleaner and less stressful for the operator. It can also use extension cords up to 133 ft. long without worrying about tripping any circuit breakers. The AirForce 400 weighs 49 lbs., operates on 115- or 230-volt power. It can slice through 1/16-in. steel at a rate of 68 in. per minute. A pilot arc permits “standoff” cutting. Drag cutting is also permitted.
