Retail stores and restaurants sign up for PowerCold's desiccant systems.

LARGO, Fla. - PowerCold ComfortAir Solutions Inc. will net more than $2 million in additional revenue due to several new national retail store and restaurant chain contracts, the company announced.

PowerCold is redesigning the HVAC systems for Chick-Fil-A, Popeye's Chicken and Bob O'Grady's restaurants. Recently, the company was involved in a retrofit project for a Burger King restaurant in Orlando, Fla. The PowerCold Model 1000, a desiccant, latent system, was installed to help maintain relative-humidity levels. PowerCold personnel are monitoring the system and conducting year-to-year comparisons on the restaurant's monthly power bills. The company believes the system will save approximately 30 percent to 40 percent in electric power costs.

The company also announced new contracts with Walgreens and Eckerd drugstores. The company will also provide services to a Sonic Drive-In restaurant in Lakeland, Fla., a hotel in Nevada, ice skating rinks in Canada and a medical building in Denver.

The company also announced that it signed an agreement with First Energy Group LLC in Old Bridge, N.J., to jointly promote environmental products to First Energy and PowerCold customers.
