Employees certified in energy-efficiency program
OAK CREEK, Wis. - Two employees with Grunau Co. recently passed the certification exam for the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design program.
According to the Oak Creek-based company, it is the first mechanical contractor in Wisconsin to have staff accredited with the U.S. Green Building Council's LEED program.
Sarah Meyer and Jessica Rauch, both design engineers, were accredited in the LEED-NC category, which recognizes them as experts in environmental or "green" building techniques for new commercial construction and major renovation projects.
"I believe LEED is something that will be extremely important to owners and building planners in the future," said Rauch. "Understanding and embracing LEED helps Grunau stay on the cutting edge."
"We encourage our employees to challenge themselves and to learn the latest techniques that the industry can offer. We're excited that Sarah and Jessica have taken that opportunity with their LEED certification," said Paul Grunau, company president and CEO.
