SCHOFIELD, Wis. - Greenheck's new manufacturing plant in Kunshan, China, shipped its first order of 20 belt-driven, square in-line fans in October, less than one year after the company announced plans to expand into the Far East.

The company said the new facility helps it deliver faster and more cost-effectively to Chinese construction sites by reducing overseas shipping costs and eliminating import duties.

With 1.2 billion people, China is expected to be the largest HVAC market in the world by 2005, Greenheck said.

The company also has plants in Schofield, Wis., Frankfort, Ky., and Sacramento, Calif. The company also exports equipment to Central America, South America, the Middle East and the Pacific Rim.
