"The Art of Building Science" DVD discusses IAQ, air and moisture flow, and more.

VALLEY FORGE, Pa. - CertainTeed Corp.'s Insulation Group recently received an Aurora Award for its DVD, "The Art of Building Science." The award recognizes international commercial and corporate film and video work.

The educational DVD, which earned a Gold Award in its category, includes an introduction to building science and discussions on heat, air and moisture flow, indoor air quality, sound control and other related topics.

"The Art of Building Science" was created by Learning Discoveries in Merion, Pa., and was written and produced by Larry Singer. Singer worked closely with CertainTeed building science personnel to develop concepts and presentation methods.

"We're especially proud of the animation sequence," said Singer. "They show how heat, air and moisture move in and out of homes. These invisible flows are made clear through animation, so the audiences can watch such things as heat escaping and moisture infiltration, and this should help builders and contractors to improve construction techniques."
