SMACNA recognizes Safety Award winners
The Sheet Metal Contractors Association of Philadelphia, SMACNA of Western Pennsylvania and the Association of Mechanical & Sheet Metal Contractors are the SMACNA chapters with the "safest" members.
The Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors National Association recently announced the winners of its Safety Excellence Award program, which allows members to track their safety record.
The top three companies with over 500,000 accident-free hours are RHP Mechanical Systems in Reno, Nev.; MacDonald-Miller Facility Solutions Inc. in Seattle; and J.B. Henderson Construction Co. in Albuquerque, N.M.
Poynter Sheet Metal Inc. in Bloomington, Ind., is listed in the 400,001 to 500,000 hour category, along with Baker Group in Des Moines, Iowa, and Ruthrauff Inc. in McKees Rocks, Pa.
The companies with 300,001 to 400,000 accident-free hours are CCI Mechanical Inc. in Salt Lake City; Straus Systems Inc. in Stafford, Texas; and Western Allied Corp. in Santa Fe Springs, Calif.
Recognized with 200,001 to 300,000 safe hours are Huxtable and Associates in Lawrence, Kan., and Lloyd's Refrigeration and Pahor Air Conditioning Inc., both in Las Vegas.
Morris Sheet Metal Corp. in Fort Wayne, Ind., is in the 100,001 to 200,000 hours category, along with Western Sheet Metal Inc. in Salt Lake City, and Mechanical Concepts Inc. in Gary, Ind.
In the 50,001 to 100,000 hours category is Lyon Sheet Metal Works in St. Louis, Griffin & Co. Inc. in Louisville, Ky., and S.P. McCarl & Co. in Altoona, Pa.
In the 25,001 to 50,000 hours category are Premier Mechanical Corp. in Tempe, Ariz.; United Mechanical Inc. in San Jose, Calif.; and Eastern Air Balance in Elizabethtown, Pa.
A.G. Industries of Muskego, Wis., is in the 1,000 to 25,000 hours category with Air Systems Balancing and Testing in Rush, N.Y., and GES Sheet Metal in Pomona, Calif.
