This new refrigerant leak detector uses microprocessor-controlled circuitry and a responsive heat diode sensor to quickly locate leaks. "The Informant" also automatically detects different types of refrigerants; resetting a switch is unnecessary. The instrument is accurate- it can focus on and isolate a leak source even when high levels of background vapors or other refrigerants are present. It has an audible and three visual leak indicators that also tells where the leak is concentrated. A 20-in. probe, which can be wrapped around the unit and also used as a 3-in. probe, helps technicians get into hard-to-reach areas.
