Under the G.I. Bill of Rights, veterans can now receive reimbursement for HVAC Excellence certification.

MOUNT PROSPECT, Ill. - HVAC Excellence training qualifies for reimbursement under the GI Bill of Rights, the U.S. Department of Veteran's Affairs announced.

The announcement means qualified veterans may be eligible for all or part of their HVAC Excellence certification testing to be paid for by the government. The department will also reimburse up to $2,000 per test, but not more than the actual cost of the test.

The training now covered includes residential air conditioning, commercial refrigeration, commercial air conditioning, heat pumps, gas, electric and oil heat, carbon monoxide and R-410A. The bill also covers carbon monoxide certification for trainers, and the HVAC Excellence master educator certification.
