WASHINGTON - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has added TABB-certified contractors to its list of accepted certifications.

"Experience and results have proven the value and integrity of the Testing, Adjusting and Balancing Bureau," said Erik S. Emblem, TABB administrator and executive director of the National Energy Management Institute. "The military did a review and found that TABB met or exceeded other certification programs in all aspects."

TABB's certification program is a joint effort of contractors from the Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors National Association, and union labor representatives from the Sheet Metal Workers International Association.

Other companies adding TABB to their specification program include Bellingham, Wash.-based Anvil Corp. and the engineering firm of Gruman & Butkis Associates in Evanston, Ill., Emblem said.
