According to HVAC Excellence, the new certification deals with the growing concern over carbon monoxide as homes are built "tighter." The certification is designed to ensure that technicians possess the knowledge necessary to protect the public.
The carbon monoxide and combustion analysis certification covers the symptoms of CO poisoning, health effects of exposure, test equipment, treatment, detection methods, alarms, standards, the principles of combustion, analysis, burner operation, combustion troubleshooting and building pressure, and more.
