SMACNA, OSHA form alliance
WASHINGTON - A partnership between the Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors' National Association and the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration will tackle issues concerning motor vehicle safety, fall protection and personal protective equipment.
Both organizations will work together to develop information and training resources for SMACNA members and their employees.
"This alliance serves to establish a structure for sharing resources and opening channels of communication designed to yield safer and more healthful American workplaces," said Mark Watson, SMACNA president. "It is fitting, since we share with OSHA a mutual dedication to a safe and healthful work environment, that we combine our strengths and determination to promote an accident-free workplace."
