MoreThe North American Insulation Manufacturers Association has met its safety obligations for the year, according to its completed OSHA report.
This is the seventh annual voluntary report for the association, which details a program developed in conjunction with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
Adopted in May 1999, the NAIMA Health and Safety Partnership Program is designed to protect workers by providing specific and uniform jobsite recommendations for the manufacture, fabrication and installation of fiberglass, rock wool and slag wool insulation products. The program also provides an education and training program for workers.
"NAIMA and its members have a long-standing commitment to the safe manufacture and use of insulation," said Ken Mentzer, president and CEO of the association. "The active implementation of the HSPP, such as providing information on exposure levels and distributing work practice information, is a natural extension of that commitment."
