ABC chapters honored for training efforts

The Associated Builders and Contractors were presented with Workforce Development Awards from the Construction Users Roundtable.

WASHINGTON - Two chapters of the Associated Builders and Contractors were recognized recently by the Construction Users Roundtable for commitment in promoting construction work force training and recruitment.

Workforce Development Awards were presented to ABC's Northern Ohio chapter in Broadview Heights for its apprenticeship and training program, and the Ohio Valley chapter in Springboro for work on the Ohio Valley Construction Education Foundation. Awards were presented during the CURT national conference Nov. 8-10 in Palm Springs, Calif.

"Craft workers are the heart and soul of the industry, and ABC is proud to provide industry-leading training and education for these professionals," said Kirk Pickerel, ABC president and CEO.

CURT also recognized several ABC members with safety awards. Awards were presented to Broadmoor LLC of Metairie, La.; Barton Malow Co. of Southfield, Mich.; Boh Bros. Construction Co. in Baton Rouge, La.; S&B Engineers and Constructors of Houston; Insulations Inc. of Harahan, La.; QCI Thermal Systems in West Burlington, Iowa; Tracer Construction Co. of Houston; and Shaw Environmental and Infrastructure Inc. of Baton Rouge, La.
