The new Make-A-Wish office in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, features an HVAC system that was donated by Luxaire, distributor Design Air and contractor Capital Heating & Cooling.

Representatives from Johnson Controls, Design Air, Capital Heating & Cooling and Make-A-Wish joined families, business leaders and community members to celebrate the office’s grand opening.

“We’re very proud of the commitment we’ve been able to make to Make-A-Wish over the past 15 years,” said Steve Hoffins, director of marketing for unitary products at Luxaire parent company Johnson Controls, which has donated more than $3 million nationally to the nonprofit. “It’s especially heartwarming to know that our contributions are supporting children and their families in many of the communities where we live and work.”

Johnson Controls, along with the support of other Luxaire distributors and contractors, has helped grant 458 wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions. Capital Heating & Cooling HVAC installer Joe Brensinger was personally touched by the nonprofit when his 4-year-old daughter, Natalie, was granted her wish to visit Florida theme parks in May.

“It was a trip we’ll never forget and a reminder of the many caring people I work with,” Brensinger said. “It means more than I can put into words to work for a company that supports an organization like Make-A-Wish.”

The Brensingers, who attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony and grand opening, participated in the presentation of a $5,000 check to Make-A-Wish on behalf of Capital Heating & Cooling.

“The check isn’t about Capital Heating & Cooling,” said Jason Fox, owner of the HVAC company. “It’s about children like Natalie, employees like Joe and all the families whose lives are forever changed by the generosity of strangers and granting wishes.”
