Pretax earnings at sheet metal works and ductwork fabrication products manufacturer Trumpf Inc. increased 61.2 percent in the past year to $248 million euros ($318 million U.S.) the Germany-based company said.

Revenues for 2013-2014 were 2.587 billion euros ($3.2 billion U.S.), the highest in the company’s 90-year history, officials said.

"Even more important for our higher earnings, however, are several broadly-based yield and productivity enhancement programs, thanks to which we were much more efficient over the past year and a half," said Trumpf President Dr. Nicola Leibinger-Kammüller, Ph.D.

Trumpf’s return on sales grew from 6.6 percent to 9.6 percent, the company said.
