ST. LOUIS — Emerson Climate Technologies has developed a toll-free technical service number for Comfort Alert Diagnostics.

According to Emerson, the number allows contractors to contact specialized technicians when they have questions while working with Comfort Alert Diagnostics-equipped units.

The diagnostic program aims to improve diagnostic troubleshooting accuracy and speed of service by using the Copeland Scroll compressor as a sensor for system faults and communicates fault codes via flashing LEDs in the outdoor unit. Comfort Alert sends fault codes to a White-Rodgers thermostat, which protects the compressor when severe, damaging faults are detected.

“With many manufacturers now featuring Comfort Alert Diagnostics in their units, the technical service number provides contractors with the ability to speak directly with specialized technicians about taking advantage of Comfort Alert Diagnostics to troubleshoot system problems,” said John Schneider, director of residential marketing for Copeland’s air-conditioning division.
