Even casinos are going 'green'

You might not think of a loud, brightly lit, 24-hour casino as an energy-saving structure, but then you probably haven't been to the new Turtle Creek Casino & Hotel.

I came across an Associated Press article about the Native American-owned casino in Williamsburg, Mich., that stresses it environmental friendliness: Drinks are only served in reusable glasses and half of the casino's daytime lighting comes from skylights.

The article also makes note of Las Vegas casinos that are earning certification from the U.S. Green Building Council.

I noticed the article because Snips’ July cover story will be on the same topic. Of course, I prefer our version, but you can compare when the issue comes out. The AP article is at ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5iNhPXJdpatCnc4azhd_WB7wQHXIAD91GSGKG0
