The new 80 percent AFUE ComfortMaker SoftSound IIS 80 gas furnace line is a low-profile furnace that can be installed in upflow, downflow, horizontal-left or horizontal-right configurations. The product includes a troubleshooting LED fault indicator that will diagnose virtually all system-related malfunctions. Conventional gas valves also come standard on these new furnaces. According to the company, two-stage heating operation contributes to more evenly heated homes, removing hot and cold spots, while firing on and using the quieter first-stage operation 70 percent to 80 percent of the time.
