Air Cold Supply and All City Heating and Air Conditioning donated and installed new HVAC equipment for the “Renovate My Family” TV series project in Yorba Linda, Calif. This 1,200-square-foot home was expanded to approximately 2,400 square feet.

NORMAN, Okla. — York dealers and distributors based in California are playing a role in the Fox Broadcasting Co. make-over show, “Renovate My Family.” The reality series seeks to improve a family’s life in several ways, including a renovation of their home.

York products have been featured in three episodes that aired in 2004, and will again be featured in an episode slated for the 2005 season.

York officials are excited about their involvement.

“It’s a great way for York to get out into the communities in which we do business and lend a helping hand,” said Diego Stefani, York regional sales manager. Stefani was instrumental in securing the participation of York distributors and York Liberties dealers in each of the four California-based episodes.

“I was asking a lot of our people,” said Stefani. “Not only was I asking them to donate their labor, but I also asked them to install an HVAC system in a week’s time, from start to finish, as an entire house literally went up around them. What’s more, from the time I found out about each project to the time the show began taping was no more than a few days. So, a lot of planning and coordination had to take place in a very short period of time.”

Despite the time constraints, Stefani said he had no trouble finding volunteers.

For example, in Oceanside, Calif., Tony Lopez, a salesman with York distributor Air Cold Supply, helped renovate the Senteno family home. The 2,000-square-foot ranch-style house was expanded into a 3,200-square-foot, two-story house to accommodate their expanding family.

“I thought it would be a great way to get involved in the community and help out a deserving family,” said Lopez. “I also thought it would be fun for my customer, the folks at Mechanical Plumbing, Heating and Air Conditioning.”

Air Cold Supply also helped with a project in Yorba Linda, Calif., which expanded a family’s home from 1,200 to approximately 2,400 square feet. All City Heating and Air Conditioning in Corona, Calif., installed two air conditioners and two furnaces for the house.

Three of the HVAC installations, including the Oceanside and Yorba Linda projects, featured York’s new Affinity series air conditioners and furnaces.

“We wanted to provide these families with HVAC equipment that matched the beauty, style and efficiency of their new homes,” said Stefani.
