Ten finalists were chosen to receive a $1,500 scholarship on behalf of Newport News, Va.-based Ferguson.

The finalists were selected from nearly 100 applicants nationwide as part of the Ferguson scholarship fund.

This year’s winners were: Robyn Campbell of Cincinnati; Nathan Cates of Benton, Tenn.; Hailey Jarman of Mount Pleasant, Mich.; Weston Johnson of Irvington, Va.; Eric Mullins of Appleton, Wis.; Scarlett Murphy of Winston-Salem, N.C.; Lauren Oswald of Raleigh, N.C.; Catherine Rogers of Roswell, Ga.; Devin Salazar of Spring, Texas; and  Caitlyn Urhammer of Casper, Wyo.

The scholarships are renewable for up to three consecutive years, and are available to students currently enrolled or planning to enroll full time in an accredited two- or four-year program at a U.S. college, trade or vocational school.

Scholarship fund was created in 2007 to provide financial assistance to children of Ferguson employees who are pursuing postsecondary education. Candidates apply for the scholarships through the Peninsula Community Foundation of Virginia. An independent scholarship selection committee then chooses the recipients based on the completed application packet and evidence of commitment to academic performance, standardized test scores, school and community involvement and financial need.

Now entering its fourth year, two previous recipients — Robert Evans from Tennessee Technological University and Kimberly Frazier from the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse —became the first Ferguson scholars to graduate this May.
