George Jones, an HVAC installer with Gunlach
Plumbing and Heating in Richmond, Va., was the winner of a flat panel
high-definition television set from White-Rodgers.
The prize
was part of the company’s Switch to Mercury-Free Thermostats contest.
Jones
had his winning entry pulled by Geoff Godwin, vice-president of marketing for
White-Rodgers.
“When we called George with the good news, we
were pleased to find out that he already uses White-Rodgers thermostats and at
83 years young, George is still on the job installing equipment and controls,”
Godwin said.
“The purpose of the Switch to Mercury-Free
Thermostats promotion was to create awareness among property managers and
supervisors about the ease of switching to mercury-free mechanical and digital
thermostats. These managers already have a lot of regulations to keep up with,
so we’re glad we can offer them a quick and easy solution for their properties.”
Property
managers and supervisors that responded to the promotion will receive
information relating to mercury products, including new state and local laws on
mercury products, cost-effective thermostat replacements, and tips on how to
dispose of existing thermostats.
Property managers and HVAC
control installers can still obtain information on mercury-free thermostats and
the advantages of converting by visiting
www.white-rodgers.com/PropertyManagement.
