Wholesalers group HARDI has joined an association telling the president to scrap current health care reform proposals in favor of other ideas.

The Heating, Airconditioning and Refrigeration Distributors International is a part of the 248-member umbrella organization the StartOver coalition that signed a Feb. 22 letter to President Barack Obama asking him to abandon the health care reform bills that passed the U.S. House and Senate last year.

The coalition, which also includes the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Associated Builders and Contractors, and the Associated General Contractors, called the current approaches to health care reform “punitive” on businesses and said they will likely harm job-creation efforts.

Obama has made passing some version of health care reform in the next few weeks his top domestic priority.
