‘Cash for Caulkers’ may be next stimulus plan

If President Obama gets his way, Congress will approve a new plan to get contractors back to work. The plan would provide tax incentives for weatherization and home energy-efficiency projects.

The proposed plan is being called “Cash for Caulkers.” While the details are still vague, some news outlets are reporting that the program is part of a larger stimulus plan that would provide funds to small businesses over a three-year period. It is also being described as a tax incentive for homeowners. Homeowners can receive tax rebates for taking steps to make their homes more energy efficient. This would create a selling opportunity for contractors. They can offer their services and inform homeowners that they will receive money back from the government for taking steps to weatherize their homes.

So what do you think? Do you think that this is a step that will help your business? Leave some comments or send an e-mail my way at siegelj@bnpmedia.com.
